While the 2019 Sierra 1500 shares a platform with the Silverado 1500, it’s a different truck. The Sierra 1500 gets distinctive exterior styling, a more luxurious cabin and exclusive features not found on the Silverado. You can get the Sierra 1500 in many configurations at a dealer like the Forest City GMC dealership, from a basic work truck to the well-appointed Denali trim. The GMC Sierra 1500 has exceptional towing and hauling capability.

The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 is offered in six trim levels, listed as base, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4 and Denali. We’ll go over the features of each one to see how they differ.

The Sierra 1500 base trim is equipped with a standard 4.3-liter V6 engine that makes 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque, connected to a six-speed automatic transmission. While the base is the entry-level model, it still comes with a nice feature set. It includes 17-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, a locking tailgate, automatic xenon headlamps, a tilting steering wheel, power windows and locks, cruise control, a rearview camera, USB connectivity, an audio system with six speakers, a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Sierra Elevation trim starts comes with the features of the Sierra Convenience Package, which includes a remote-locking tailgate, heated power mirrors, LED cargo box lighting, remote keyless entry and an AC outlet. The Elevation also gets exclusive 20-inch black alloys, body-colored exterior trim and LED foglamps.

The Sierra SLE comes with all the equipment just mentioned and adds 17-inch alloys, a damped tailgate, a leather-covered steering wheel and an 8-inch touchscreen.

The Sierra SLT trim employs a 5.3-liter V8 that puts out 355 hp and 383 lb-ft. There’s also an optional 6.2-liter V8 that cranks out 420 hp and 460 lb-ft, joined to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Standard features for the SLT include a trailer brake controller, a MultiPro configurable tailgate, driver-seat memory, a locking rear differential, power-folding heated mirrors and a trailering package

Off-roaders will love the Sierra AT4 trim. It includes many of the SLT’s features, along with standard four-wheel drive and a two-speed transfer case. The AT4 also gets 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires (20-inch wheels are optional), a 2-inch suspension lift, Rancho shock absorbers, skid plates, hill descent control and traction control.

The top-of-the-line Sierra Denali trim starts with the features of the lower trims and adds exclusive adaptive suspension dampers, 20-inch wheels, exclusive interior details, a rear camera mirror and a head-up display. The Denali also has available MultiPro power assist steps.
