The 2019 GMC Terrain is a compact crossover that’s just the right size for a family of five. Customers at the Rutherfordton GMC dealership value the Terrain for its ride comfort, sophisticated styling and powerful engines. The Terrain received an update in 2018 that reduced its size and weight, which provided better fuel economy and a boost in performance.
Sharing a platform with the Chevrolet Equinox, the Terrain is targeted to more upscale buyers at dealers like the Rutherfordton GMC dealership. When you step inside the Terrain’s cabin, you’ll be impressed with its stunning fit and finish. Taller passengers will be grateful for the ample headroom in the front and rear rows. The infotainment system is user-friendly. When more storage is needed, the rear seats can be folded down with the touch of a lever, making it easy to carry larger items.
The 2019 GMC Terrain garners great reviews from the automotive press. Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com wrote: “The compact-crossover SUV world is a crowded place, but the 2019 GMC Terrain stands out with a wide array of choices, driver-assistance features, luxury appointments and distinctive styling. Splash out a little more to have all-wheel drive, a punchy 2.0-liter gasoline engine, or a highly economical diesel unit.”
Buyers can get the Terrain in one of four trim levels, listed as SL, SLE, SLT and Denali. Front-wheel drive is standard across the lineup and all models can get the optional all-wheel-drive system.
There are three different engines to choose from. The base engine is a 1.5-liter turbo-four that generates 170 horsepower and 203 lb.-ft. of torque, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Those looking for a bit more power can choose the 2.0-liter turbo-four unit that produces 252 hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is standard on the Denali trim and available on the SLE and SLT trim. Also available is a 1.6-liter turbo-four that puts out 137 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. This engine is extremely fuel efficient, with an EPA-estimated 32 mpg combined with front- or all-wheel drive.*
The 2019 GMC Terrain’s attractive styling sets it apart from its rivals. The Terrain’s refined grille and signature C-shaped LED lighting make a bold statement. Those who want a more aggressive look can choose the all-new Black Edition, which comes with 19-inch black wheels and blacked-out exterior trim. A Chrome package is also on offer.
The 2019 GMC Terrain comes with a long list of standard technology features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 7-inch touchscreen. An 8-inch touchscreen is optional. Also standard is a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot that can accommodate up to seven electronic devices at once. Music lovers will enjoy the sounds supplied by the seven-speaker Bose premium audio system. Some of the Terrain’s other amenities include an automated parking system, a surround-view parking camera and wireless smartphone charging. Ventilated front seats and heated rear seats are available on the luxurious Terrain Denali trim.
