2020 GMC Terrain Trim Levels
The 2020 GMC Terrain is a compact crossover that’s popular at dealerships like the Forest City GMC dealer, thanks to its elegant styling, powerful turbocharged engines, comfortable ride and long list of standard features.
Terrain owners also appreciate the quiet and pleasant cabin. There’s lots of room for the driver and passengers to stretch out and stay comfortable. Tall passengers will be thankful for the Terrain’s abundant headroom. The infotainment system is easy to use, allowing the driver to concentrate on driving. Newly standard features for 2020 include low-speed forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist and front pedestrian detection.
The 2020 GMC Terrain is offered in SL, SLE, SLT and Denali trim levels. According to the GMC dealer serving Forest City, the Terrain is equipped with a standard 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 170 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the wheels through a nine-speed automatic gearbox. A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s good for 250 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque is available on the SLT and standard on the Denali. This engine is also mated to the nine-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard across the board, and all-wheel drive is optional. Properly outfitted, the Terrain can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
We’ll go over the 2020 GMC Terrain’s different trim levels and look at the features each one provides.
Terrain SL
The base Terrain SL trim has plenty of standard features to keep buyers happy, including proximity keyless entry, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 17-inch alloy wheels, push-button start, active grille shutters and active noise cancellation. The SL also gets an infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a stereo system with six speakers, a Wi-Fi hotspot and four USB ports.
Terrain SLE
The SLE trim comes with the same standard feature list as the SL, plus a few more, such as a self-dimming rearview mirror. The SLE opens the door to some option packages that aren’t available on the SL, including the Infotainment I package, the Driver Convenience package and the Driver Alert package.
Terrain SLT
Step up to the SLT trim and you’ll get dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, self-dimming side mirrors, satellite radio and an 8-inch touchscreen. The 2.0-liter engine is optional on the SLT. A heated steering wheel is among the other available features.
Terrain Denali
The top-line Denali trim gets the 2.0-liter engine standard, as well as an upgraded suspension system. Other standard features include exclusive interior and exterior styling cues, a heated steering wheel, driver’s side memory settings, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, a 360-degree camera system, a hands-free power liftgate, navigation, a Bose audio system and wireless charging. Standard driver-assistance features include lane change alert, front and rear parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring and a safety alert seat. The optional Premium package comes with ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and adaptive cruise control.
Whichever Terrain trim level you select, you’ll get a very safe vehicle. The 2020 Terrain received the top score of Good in all six IIHS crash tests, and NHTSA awarded the Terrain with its highest rating of five stars for overall safety.
