According to the Asheville GMC dealership, the 2023 GMC Terrain gets a few updates for the new model year. The engine has been given a boost; it now produces 175 horsepower, a 5-hp increase from the previous model. The SLE and SLT trims’ available Elevation package now features restyled 19-inch wheels. Additionally, the Terrain Denali gets a new optional Black Diamond Edition package. Finally, three new paint colors join the lineup: Volcanic Red Tintcoat, Sterling Metallic, and Deep Bronze Metallic (Denali only).
The 2023 GMC Terrain seats five and is available in four trim levels: SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. Under the hood, the Terrain is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine that generates 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The AT4 and Denali trims come equipped with all-wheel drive, while the SLE and SLT get standard front-wheel drive and available all-wheel drive.
EPA-estimated fuel economy for the 2023 GMC Terrain with front-wheel drive is rated at 24 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.* All-wheel-drive models return 24 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
The base Terrain SLE trim comes loaded with standard features, including 17-inch alloy wheels, proximity keyless entry and push-button ignition, LED exterior lighting, a six-way power front seat, heated mirrors, forward collision mitigation, and lane-keeping assist. The standard infotainment system includes a 7-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker audio system, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and USB data ports.

This feature allows you to open and close the liftgate with a kick of your foot, using a sensor activated by the key fob in your bag or pocket. The liftgate also has an adjustable height feature that prevents it from hitting low ceilings. This convenient and innovative feature makes it easy to access the vehicle’s cargo area.

The Denali also comes with a Bose premium audio system with seven speakers, HD radio, a wireless charging pad, and a navigation system.
