The Denali models are powered by a 6.2-liter V8 that generates 420 hp and 460 lb-ft. A 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbodiesel engine that puts out 277 hp and 460 lb-ft is available for the SLE, SLT, Denali, and Denali Ultimate trims.
All powertrains are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. All models except the AT4 get standard rear-wheel drive and available all-wheel drive. The AT4 gets all-wheel drive standard.
The 2023 GMC Yukon XL has a maximum towing capacity of 8,300 pounds, making it a capable vehicle for hauling heavy loads.
