The Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD has long been a workhorse in the heavy-duty truck segment, consistently delivering maximum power and capability. Customers at the Glenwood Chevrolet dealer appreciate this powerful pickup’s ability to meet the market’s ever-changing demands, making it a go-to choice for truck enthusiasts and professionals needing a heavy-duty truck for the toughest jobs. With a striking presence and a well-earned reputation for toughness, the 2023 Silverado 3500HD continues to make its mark in the automotive landscape.
The Chevy Silverado 3500HD’s ability to be fitted with dual rear wheels sets it apart from its Silverado 2500HD sibling. According to the Glenwood Chevrolet dealership, the Silverado 3500HD boasts a remarkable towing capacity of 36,000 pounds when properly configured. This powerhouse pickup not only delivers outstanding performance but also offers a luxurious High Country trim level featuring sophisticated amenities.
Kelley Blue Book gives the 2023 Chevrolet high marks, writing: “Big tasks require big trucks. The Chevy Silverado 2500 and 3500 models can handle most demands a work situation will throw at them. The 3500 is the same size as the 2500, but Chevrolet strengthens the chassis and offers a dual rear wheel setup. The 3500 is the choice for extreme payloads and/or towing abilities.”
The 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500HD comes in four trim levels: Work Truck, LTZ, LT, and High Country. The base 6.6-liter V8 engine produces 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque. It’s teamed to a six-speed automatic gearbox. An available Duramax diesel 6.6-liter V8 generating 445 hp and 910 lb-ft is coupled to an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. Both engines offer rear- or four-wheel drive and single-rear-wheel axle or dually configurations.
The EPA doesn’t conduct fuel economy tests on trucks like the 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500HD. Nevertheless, Car and Driver assessed the similar Silverado 2500HD model with the 6.6-liter V8 engine. It checked in with 14 mpg on the highway. When fitted with the diesel engine, the truck returned 19 mpg highway.
Enhancing the towing experience, the Silverado 3500HD comes with an array of trailering and driver assistance features. The multiview camera system stands out, offering a transparent mode that enables the driver to virtually see through the trailer. This innovative feature makes merging onto highways and navigating tight spots safer and easier.
For off-road adventures, the Silverado 3500HD’s available four-wheel-drive system, complete with low-range gearing and a transfer case, comes in handy. Off-road packages include exclusive suspension setups and additional underbody protection.
The aptly named Work Truck trim focuses on functionality, with features such as 18-inch wheels, vinyl upholstery, four-way manual driver and front passenger seats, daytime running lamps, air conditioning, and manual windows and door locks. Also standard are cargo tie-downs, trailering mirrors, a locking tailgate, the CornerStep rear bumper, side steps, rubberized vinyl floor covering, a trailering package, hitch guidance, a rearview camera, and a 12-volt auxiliary front power outlet.
The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD’s infotainment system sports a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a stereo system with two speakers, Bluetooth, and USB ports.
